At the heart of ROLINX ECO lies the innovative combination of mechanically robust AL6000 grades and electrically efficient AL1000 grades, brought together using Rogers’ patented laser welding technology. Nickel-plated AL6000 bushings are laser welded to the non-plated AL1000 main conductors, ensuring superior contact resistance at connection points while maintaining efficient power distribution throughout the busbar body. Laser welding the bushings eliminates the risk of mechanical creep.
“ECO” stands for ECOnomic since it provides a cost-effective solution. Aluminum’s lower raw material cost delivers significant cost advantages, compared to traditional copper busbars. Furthermore, the selective plating, which is only applied the AL6000 connection points, can provide cost optimizations compared to existing aluminum busbar technologies. The level of the potential costs savings varies from design to design.
“ECO” also represents ECOlogical. By replacing copper with aluminum, ROLINX ECO achieves substantial weight savings without compromising performance. In non-static applications, reduced weight enhances efficiency and lowers CO2 emissions. In doing so, ROLINX ECO helps to reduce the ecological footprint of the application.
